PARENT, FAMILY & COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT POLICY

Provide your written Parent, Family and Community Involvement Policy, including the Parent Compact (PL 103-382, Section 1118). Describe how you have and will provide meaningful involvement or parents, families and your local community in developing and implementing your School Improvement activities. Describe how you will sustain involvement during the 3-year cycle.

Cochise Elementary has adopted Arizona School Board Policy K-0150 Parental Involvement in Education, which states that the Superintendent, in consultation with parents and teachers shall develop a procedure for parental involvement in the school. This includes:
  • A plan for parent participation in the school designated to improve parent and teacher cooperation in such areas as homework, attendance and discipline.
  • A method by which parents may learn about the course of student for their children and review learning materials
  • A procedure by which parents who object to any learning material or activity on the basis that it is harmful may withdraw their children from any activity or from the class or program in which that material is used. Objection to a learning material or activity on the basis that it is harmful includes objection to a material or activity because it questions beliefs or practices in sex, morality or religion.
