PLAYGROUND RULES AND PROCEDURES
Playground activities are part of the curriculum. To interact on the playground is a privilege; therefore, you must obey the rules.
GENERAL RULES
1.
No siblings playing on the playground before, during or after school without parent supervision.
2.
No head sets; no video games; no trading cards of any type allowed.
3.
No hats, no gum, no toys, no food allowed.
4.
No "tag" game of any sort. Keep hands and feet to yourself at all times.
5.
Stay off the ramp, stairs, and porch by the library. Do no go in between the buildings.
6.
Please check with the adult on playground duty for permission to leave the playground.
7.
Stay out of bushes and ask permission to retrieve a ball from the bushes.
8.
If a child becomes injured while playing on the playground, report it immediately to the adult in charge.
9.
Running is not allowed on any sidewalk.
10.
No running to or from the buses.
11.
If a child is taking medicine, including cough drops, they will not be allowed to play on the playground. They will sit during this time. The adult will have a designated area for them to sit and watch the others.
SWINGS
1.
The only acceptable position is seated with bottom in the center of swing seat.
2.
Swing straight.
3.
No jumping out of swing.
4.
Do not duck under swing or play around it and no pushing swings.
MONKEY BARS
1. Cross the bars hand over hand.
2. Do not climb across or sit on top of the bars.
SLIDE
1. Do not go on the slide unless you have permission for the adult in charge.
2. One student at a time goes down the slide.
3. Sit and slide down the slide.
4. Go down the slide feet first.
5. Do not walk up the slide.
6. When going up the ladder, take one step at a time.
7. Do not play at the top of the slide.
BALLS
1. Balls will be used for the appropriate sport or game under adult supervision.
2. No throwing balls at other students.
3. No playing "war".
4. No throwing a ball against buildings.
** Infractions of these rules will cause loss of playtime. The teacher or Superintendent may take further action if rules are not followed.
